The Specialized Technician in Building and Public Works is responsible for the technical supervision of construction projects. As the person in charge of organizational methods, they determine the conditions for project execution as well as the selection of equipment, and participate in cost determination. Structural dimensioning, site setup, plan design, monitoring of contract and site execution, team supervision… The BTP Technician profession may involve diverse administrative and financial responsibilities.
That is why at IFMBTP, we are committed to training Specialized Technicians in BTP who master construction tools and are capable of preparing provisional budgets, responding to tenders, interpreting procedures, and ensuring the general supervision of works, in compliance with quality, regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety at work conditions.

Specialized Technician in Building and Public Works Training Program and Pedagogical Approach

Lasting 2,190 hours spread over two years, the IFMBTP training program dedicated to BTP Technicians is based on a work-study system that combines theory and practical fieldwork. It is structured into 29 modules and three practical internships, allowing trainees to train alternately at their training institute and in a professional environment.

Admission Requirements for the Specialized Technician in Building and Public Works Program

To access the Specialized Technician in BTP program, trainees must:

  • Hold a scientific or technical baccalaureate, an equivalent diploma, or a Technician diploma in a specialization field allowing access to BTP training.
  • Be at least 17 years old
  • Selection based on application file
  • Pass the oral interview

They must also possess the following qualities: physical fitness, autonomy, organization, reactivity, sense of responsibility and attention to detail, initiative, rigor, availability, anticipation capacity, stress resistance, and interpersonal skills.
